The Story of When We Three Sisters Took a Walk At the Park

This is the story of when us three sisters took a walk at the park in mid November with baby Peter. It was one of the last warm days of fall, before the weather got too brisk and cold. It was so nice out we didn't need coats, but gloves were a must. Except for me, apparently I only had one glove. Here's to later autumn days, that seem so far away now. Here's to long walks in the park on lovely cloudy overcast days. Here's to the joys of sisterhood.

One Year

One year old. It seemed like hardly any time has passed at all since she was born, and at other times it feels like ages ago. My brother wanted some pictures taken of him and his daughter. It was one of those late saturday afternoons when the sun was a little too bright for really nice artistic photos, but the weather was perfect and soon it would be time for her to take her bath and go to bed. So 5:30 it was. We drove to a nearby park and made a quick session out of it. Though the lighting was too harsh, I did like how the pictures turned out in the end. They seem to have a very raw snapshot feel about them. And sometimes the imperfect things are the best after all. What do you think?

Saturday Morning Paper Dolls

IMG_4881 IMG_4966 IMG_4905 IMG_4903 IMG_4899 IMG_4893 IMG_4882 IMG_4897

Just some pictures of my niece one Saturday morning when my brother and his family visited our house for a weekend a couple months back. I wanted to capture her adorable little girl sweetness as she put together a set of sticker paper dolls. I do love the candidness of these shots, as she was very absorbed at the task at hand and did not pay much attention to me with my camera. I love those moments. Perhaps that is why I love photographing children -- because it is pretty easy to get real candid moments because they do not care so much on how they look, or get self conscious when someone is pointing a camera at them. Love you, Cecelia!
